Today's prompt was the 'secret of adulthood', or the life lessons that you've learned so far. I made this digi page with a few quotes I pinned on Pinterest that struck a cord with me.

I made this page on my laptop, in bed, with a 38°C-ish fever. The flu may become a bit of a problem for the remainder of LOAD 213...

Today's prompt was to scrap about this stage in your life. I made a digi page with several things that are sóóó 2013 for me :-)

Today's challenge was to look at yourself as a child.
Another prompt I skipped since I remembered that I had to finish my mom's birthday present, a mini-album about the trips we took together last year, before the end of this month...
So I got to work on that for a bit and finished a few spreads in the album.

Fridays are about the senses and today's prompt was to scrap a smell. Nothing immediately came to mind, so I chose these pics of the Sun Studio in Memphis instead.
I usually don't really like yellow, but this hue is very similar to the yellow in the logo, and I like how it turned out. Since chipboard letters have a tendency to lose their adhesive strength over time, I sewed them onto the page.

Today's challenge was to scrap nature photos. An easy challenge for once!
It didn't take me long to decide on these photos of Bryce Canyon.

A rather clean & simple page, but I like how it turned out. I even tried some simplified layering - go me!

The prompt for today was to scrapbook a page you've been putting off.
Does it count when you've taken a trip 4,5 months ago and hardly scrapbooked any photos you took?

I chose this patterned paper to reflect the food theme, and mixed up the letters out of necessity: I didn't have all the required letters stickers in one colour but I did have several colours in the same font. And, not surpisingly, song lyrics as page title :-)

Today's prompt was to 'scrapbook your honey'. It could be your partner, child, pet, whatever.
But I wanted to continue with my USA vacation pics, so I made this digi page about Las Vegas.
I Googled what the title font should look like and tinkered in Photoshop until I got something that looked similar to it. I like how it turned out, and I can hear Robin Leach's voice in my mind when I read the title :-)

Today's prompt was to scrapbook a goal. I couldn't come up with something on the spot, so I chose one of the photos from my most recent trip to the States. My mom insisted to pose as a hippie with flowers in her hair in Haight Ashbury, SF. But when I took too long to take the picture, she got impatient because "I feel so silly!", haha!

 

The patterned paper is ancient, but I liked the 'hippie feel' of it. And another song title as page title, this might be a recurring theme this month :-)

Today's challenge was to "focus on an important but overlooked item". I had several ideas swirling in my head (literacy, or education for women), but I had difficulty pulling it together (what images to use??).
I've also been itching to scrap these photos of our swamp tour in New Orleans last year (I've actually been putting scrapbooking off, to 'save' it for this LOAD...). I originally wanted to do a hybrid layout with a large photo on the left page and a photo collage on the right page, but when I was fiddling with the photo collage, I figured - why not combine both and go all digi??

Today we had to scrapbook about a perfect day.
I took it quite literally and made a list of all the prerequisites for what I think is a perfect day:
* when it's my day off
* when I don't have any social commitments
* when I don't have to leave the house
* when I can walk around in my PJ's all day
* when I don't have to set the alarm
* when I can do whatever I want, like reading in bed all day, watch a movie or scrapbook

And we're off on another round of LOAD!

Today's challenge was to make a page without text, and let the photos speak for themselves.

 

This first day took quite some effort: I was home late (10PM-ish) and wasn't feeling too well. But I didn't want to start the month off by forfeiting the very first day, so I dragged myself to my scraproom anyway... And when I was working, it was actually quite nice.

 

I didn't quite follow today's prompt: though I'm usually not very verbose on my pages (I often struggle with the journaling), I had too much to say to go entirely 'wordless'.

These are photos of last year's trip to the USA, a visit to the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN. The museum is located in the motel where Dr Martin Luther King was shot.
